PARA Creative Team Announced
By PFP News
August 19, 2003

Penny-Farthing Press recently announced the creative team for the upcoming series PARA, a sci-fi creation by Eisner Award-winning editor Stuart Moore (Lone, Zendra). Moore will pull double duty on the project as creator and writer, and will team up with penciler Pablo Villalobos (Decoy), inker Mostafa Moussa (Chassis, Violent Messiahs), colorist Mike Garcia (Batman, Top Ten), and cover artist Stephan Martiníere (Battleship Earth, The Time Machine.)

“This is a great project to be involved in,” PFP Publisher Ken White explained. “When Stuart pitched the idea to us in 2002, we were blown away and had to jump on it. Stuart is a gem—as many in the industry know from his work at DC and Marvel—and we are very pleased to have his creation under the Penny-Farthing banner.”

Created by Moore as a six-issue mini-series, PARA tells the story of Sara Erie, a young woman who lost her father in the1983 National Supercollider disaster. After twenty years of coping with painful memories and an overwhelming sense of loss, Sara convinces her father’s best friend, nuclear physicist Dr. Jonas Andersen, to allow her to accompany a research team into the abandoned supercollider to discover what went wrong. Once inside, Sara discovers a world haunted with both real and imagined evils.

“It’s a great story,” PFP Editor-In-Chief Marlaine Maddux said. “It has all the elements: action, tension, tragedy, and even an ill-fated love affair. There’s something it for everyone.”

PARA will be an early 2004 release, and a Preview issue is currently available online for purchase. The Preview issue can also be purchased through Diamond and will appear in the November issue of Previews magazine.
