PFP’s First Appearance at New York Comic Con 2007 Successful

Houston, TX – April 9, 2007 – Penny-Farthing Press’s (PFP) inaugural attendance at New York Comic Con 2007 was a tremendous success. Situated in a sought after location on the Jacob Javits Convention Center floor, they acquired new exposure to East Coast comic book fans and the publishing industry alike. Total sales from the Con happily exceeded expectations and proved to be fueled by the popularity of The Victorian Act I: Self-Realization graphic novel, Captain Gravity and the Power of the Vril graphic novel and Stuart Moore’s PARA graphic novel. PFP also released a new Anne Steelyard: The Garden of Emptiness preview that was full of new artwork by hot new artist, Alex Kosakowski. The preview received an enthusiastic response from attendees anticipating the upcoming release of the graphic novel adventure story written by bestselling author Barbara Hambly (Patriot Hearts, The Darwath Trilogy, The Benjamin January mysteries).

The artist signings at PFP’s booth were a huge hit. To the delight of their excited fans, Stuart Moore (creator and writer of PARA), Joshua Dysart (writer of Captain Gravity and the Power of the Vril), Stephen Vrattos (creator of Captain Gravity) and Bob Almond (inker of Captain Gravity and Decoy) all signed on Saturday, February 24th.

New York Comic Con also proved to be a great opportunity for fans, industry professionals and the media to learn more about PFP and the high quality of their comics, graphic novels and children’s books. PFP’s Publisher, Ken White, says, “The New York Comic Con is rapidly becoming a major event in our industry, and considering our positive experience this year, we plan to definitely return in 2008.”

On the horizon for PFP is their first appearance at Alternative Press Expo (APE) in San Francisco, CA in April 2007. They are anxious to meet fans and fellow small press publishers who will also be attending this event. And, another exciting upcoming event for PFP in July will be their 10th straight appearance at the San Diego Comic Con International.
